Purpose of this paper:
This paper will help you to understand what you need to conduct knowledge transfer based telephone interviews which are then turned into podcasts for posting on online organizational knowledge sharing sites. What is in this paper is based on my own first hand personal experiences in conducting many of them over a period of several years.
How I did it and why:
Polls conducted in the past by me at various Communities of practice showed a clear member preference for more experiential knowledge content, especially interviews, to be delivered in audio PodCast format. Resource constraints dictated that any such audio interviews would have to be conducted for the most part over the phone and not in person since travel funds were often unavailable for that purpose.
While video interviews are often preferred due to their visual nature, telephone interviews have several advantages in my experience over video interviews such as:
